The short version
- Your prayers, habits and settings are kept on your phone. You can use every free feature, and Be Mumin Pro, without an account.
- We don't show ads, and we don't use analytics, crash reporting or tracking tools in the app or on this website.
- Pro Sync is optional. Only if you are a Pro member aged 18 or over and turn it on do we keep a copy of your prayer records, habits and some settings on our server, so your phones stay in step.
- You can export, import or delete your data at any time, and delete your Pro Sync account from the app or by email.
This policy explains how the Be Mumin app (“the app”, “we”, “us”), published by BinaOrbit Labs, handles information. It covers the Android app and this website, bemumin.com.
What the app keeps on your phone
Everything you enter is stored in the app's private storage on your device:
- The prayers you mark as prayed, with on time, later or qada, and Jumu'ah or Dhuhr on Fridays.
- Your habits, their reminders and intentions, and the days you complete them.
- Your settings: name (optional), language, theme, prayer calculation method, madhab, prayer time adjustments, Hijri date adjustment, reminder choices, Fajr alarm and App Block settings.
- Your location as a rounded position (about 1 km) and the place name, so prayer times can be worked out.
- Quran bookmarks and where you last read, and Fajr alarm history (woke, snoozed or slept).
Unless you turn on Pro Sync, this data is not sent to us, so we can't see it. We never sell or share it. It leaves your phone only in the cases listed below.
When data leaves your phone

These services handle data under their own policies: Google Privacy Policy, RevenueCat Privacy Policy and Supabase Privacy Policy.
Pro Sync
Pro Sync keeps your data the same on all your phones. It is off unless you turn it on, and only Pro members aged 18 or over can use it. Before anything is sent, the app shows what will be copied and asks you to confirm you are 18 or older; nothing is pre-ticked.
- Sign-in: you sign in with Google. We receive your Google account's email address, name and profile photo link, and nothing else from your Google account (no access to your Drive, contacts or other data). Your photo is shown in the app and loaded from Google.
- What is copied: your prayer records, habits and habit completions, and these settings: theme, language, calculation method, madhab, prayer time adjustments, Hijri adjustment, display settings, your name in the app, and your city and country (never your coordinates).
- What is never copied: your exact location, Fajr alarm and App Block settings and history, Quran bookmarks, prayer reminder settings, and anything about other apps on your phone. (A habit's own reminder time travels with the habit.)
- Religious data: prayer and habit records can show your religious practice. We use them only to sync your own phones, never for anything else, and only you can read them through the app.
- Where and how: on our Supabase project. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest, and each account can only reach its own rows. It is not end-to-end encrypted, so our server can technically read it; we look at it only when you ask us to help with a problem or the law requires it.
- How long: until you delete your account. If your Pro membership ends, sending stops at once; your copy is kept for 30 days so you can still download it, then it is erased. Earlier versions of changed rows are kept for 30 days so a sync mistake can be undone, then erased.
- Turning it off: Turn off sync stops sending; Sign out also removes your sign-in from the phone. Your data stays on your phone either way.
Delete your account
You can delete your Pro Sync account and all its data on our server at any time, even if you are no longer Pro:
- In the app: Settings → Your account → Delete account. This erases every synced row, its history and your sign-in from our server, and unlinks your account from your purchase. It does not touch the data on your phone (Clear all data does that).
- Without the app: email bemuminofficial@gmail.com from the Google account you signed in with, with the subject “Delete my Be Mumin account”. We delete it within 30 days and confirm by email.
Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription; manage or cancel that in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions. Purchase records are kept by Google Play and RevenueCat as billing and tax law require.
Permissions, and why
- Approximate location: to work out prayer times and the Qibla direction for where you are. Precise location is never requested.
- Notifications, exact alarms and full-screen alarm: for prayer and habit reminders and the Fajr alarm.
- Camera: only if you open “Find with camera” on the Qibla page. The picture is shown live and is never recorded, saved or sent.
- Accessibility service (App Block): only if you turn on App Block and allow it. It reads just the name of the app in front, to show a prayer reminder over apps you chose. It doesn't read what's on your screen, what you type, or any content, and it stores and sends nothing.
- Internet: only for purchases, location look-ups, Google sign-in and Pro Sync.
Your choices and rights
- Export: Settings → Privacy & data → Export my data saves all your data as one file.
- Import: Settings → Privacy & data → Import from file brings an exported file back.
- Delete on the phone: Settings → Privacy & data → Clear all data erases everything on the phone. Uninstalling the app does the same.
- Delete on our server: see Delete your account.
Wherever you live, including under the GDPR and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, you can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you can withdraw your consent to Pro Sync at any time by turning it off or deleting your account. Write to the contact below; we answer within 30 days.
This website
bemumin.com is hosted by Cloudflare. It sets no cookies and uses no analytics. Like any web server, Cloudflare processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the pages and protect the site; we don't use them to identify you. The site remembers your language choice in your own browser only.
Children
The app is for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. Pro Sync and its account are only for people aged 18 or over. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children; if you think a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Data on your phone stays in the app's private storage, which other apps can't read, and your Pro Sync sign-in is stored encrypted on the phone. Network connections use HTTPS only. On our server, access is limited to each account's own data.
Changes to this policy
If we change how data is handled, we'll update this page and the date at the top, and mention important changes in the app.
